This young Scots Pine Tree is 24cm tall and its candles are just beginning to open. The tree is non-grafted and has three strong branches, ready for wiring after the candles have been pinched this year. It is currently in a training pot to allow for the proper development of its roots within the traditional Japanese bonsai medium including akadama, kyodama, and pumice. Scot’s pine bonsai trees are relatively easy to look after and are native to the temperate climate of the UK. This one’s needles are already reducing after timely pinching of its candles at the end of spring. Non-grafted Scot’s pine bonsai trees are rarely found at this age and this one has all the promise and potential any bonsai starter could desire.
