ALMOST SIX YEARS HAVE PASSED since the release of Quake III: Arena, a title that left aside the plot of the first two episodes to focus on an entirely multiplayer experience. In the meantime, the id has produced another great sequel, that Doom 3 that wowed with its graphic magnificence, but which perhaps did not fully satisfy the fans, confining them in a gut of narrow corridors that are frankly a bit repetitive. Sales and success, however, have been undeniable and for the Activision / id / Raven Software triad the time seems ripe for the release of a new game, able to enclose the best of what it has been able to offer up to Now. This is, in fact, the stated goal for Quake 4. Nothing is known yet about the possible release date, and the big boss of the id, Todd Hollenshead, specified that.
