Fanta was developed in 1939 Germany. With the outbreak of World War II Coca-Cola's 43 German bottling plants and 600 local distributors were without a product. Max Keith was the head of Germany's Coca-Cola operations and introduced a new pale golden colored soda produced from ingredients available in Germany.
