I recently was able to buy out a watchmakers in Wisconsin, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, and also a jewelry store in Arizona. It is so interesting to see the differences in attitudes towards watchmaking. The watchmaker in Iowa repaired watches for over 150 jewelry stores across the nation in the height of his career. The jewelry store owner/watchmaker from Arizona learned watchmaking at a young age, but concentrated his efforts on selling more jewelry.
