These sprig moulds would have been used to apply the design onto the surface of a piece of Jasperware before firing. This mould depicts a courting couple in fancy period clothing under a tree. The moulds are more rare than any of the pieces of Jasperware they were applied to as the moulds themselves were not produced in their hundreds.
