These sprig moulds would have been used to apply the design onto the surface of a piece of Jasperware before firing. This mould depicts the bust of who I think might be Josiah Wedgwood himself. The moulds are more rare than any of the pieces of Jasperware they were applied to as the moulds themselves were not produced in their hundreds.
