Thia is an Antique Moorcroft Macintyre Florian Ware tobacco jar and cover, dating to around 1904 to 1913. It is a piece of Art Nouveau pottery created by William Moorcroft for James Macintyre and Co. This was prior to the setting up of Moorcroft Pottery. The jar is decorated with a Florian design in shades of blue against a textured ground. Florian Ware is known for its hand-drawn outlines and flowing floral motifs, created using a technique called tubelining. Unsure as to whether the lid is original.
