During WWII, the German Army employed two types of machine guns – MG34 and MG42 – as the nucleus of their small arms. These machine guns had powerful firepower and high firing speed. A machine gun team normally had from three to five soldiers: one pair (one gunner and one loader) and other soldiers who carry ammunition, spare gun barrels and tripod.
