Very old (estimated 1860-1890) inset 8 gate marked skillet. Sits flat, no cracks, no spin, no wobble. Notice the pitting on the cooking surface. I don’t think it would affect the function of this skillet. It does not have a heat ring but rather, an inset that makes this skillet unique.
