You can read more about the machine on skumawater.com It has a completely reverse osmosis filtration system which means it removes any contaminants from the tap water and then there is an infusion bottle via which new minerals are added to the drinking water. No need to plug it in to the plumbing system you just add water from the sink. CAUTION: If you live in an area with very hard water the machine will need descaling regularly or it can get clogged up and stop working. Let me know if you have questions.
