TT 2023 marks the centenary of the Sidecar category, which was first run in 1923 over 3 laps (113 miles) of the Mountain Course. It was won by Freddie Dixon and passenger T.W. Denney in a special Douglas banking-sidecar at an average race speed of 53.15 mph. The £2 coin depicts a modern sidecar passing through Parliament Square, Ramsey. The commemorative packaging features an image of the Birchall Brothers in a modern sidecar, and on the reverse it features Freddie Dixon and T.W. Denney competing in 1923. The year is 2023.
