All the parts are here and the needle moves when the probe is spun (it moves less in the higher gears) In further news:- I tried it out on this odd electric pump I've recently acquired and got a reading of 400RPM. looking at an oscillating part and casting my mind back to tappets I've watched, this did not seem unreasonable
