Georgian Gilt Mirror – Provenance gift from Queen Charlotte to Admiral Lord Howe

Elegant late Georgian gilt overmantel mirror with exceptional historical provenance. Family provenance states the mirror was presented by Queen Charlotte to Richard Howe following his celebrated naval victory at the Glorious First of June. The mirror was later acquired by my grandfather through Sotheby’s. Highly decorative Rococo-style gilt frame with ornate scrolling and carved detail, believed to date from the late 18th century Georgian period. A rare and impressive statement piece combining strong decorative appeal with important naval and royal historical association. Approximate size: around 4.5–5 ft wide and 3.5–4 ft high (estimate only). Further photographs and provenance information available on request.
