Angry and frustrated by his inability to provide for his family, ex-serviceman Tom Martinez (William Baldwin) falls in with the charismatic Bob Matthews (Peter Gallagher) and his white supremacist para-military group. At first Matthews' right-wing philosophy seems to offer the solution to Martinez's problems, but when the bullets start flying and he decides he wants out, the group refuse to let him go without a fight.
