March 1870. this is a very large engraved and coloured map, dissected and laid on linen with marbled paper backing sections, in its original slipcase. Very good condition, one corner crease, otherwise perfect. Some rubbing to the slipcase. The map is very large, 124cm tall by 136cm wide unfolded (49 inches by 53.5 inches). The map shows the railways, and the surrounding countries, including Prussia. 1870 was, of course, the year of the Franco-Prussian War. In slipcase, the map measures 25x18x2cm.
