Place the heating mat outside the glass terrarium. Lay 2-3 cm (0.7"-1.2") of substrate at the bottom of the terrarium to allow your pet to adjust the thickness as needed. When cleaning the terrarium, disconnect the heating mat and ensure the enclosure cools to room temperature before cleaning to avoid deformation or cracking due to thermal expansion and contraction.
