Photograph Notes: This is a heavy waste compactor on the west side of the landfill site at Calvert, see [[439660]]. After the waste is tipped from container trucks and moved into place by bulldozers, the waste is compressed by these heavy compactors which have steel wheels with spikes to break up the waste and rip open plastic bags.
