The KCS range of keypad controllers are ideal for managing small to medium sized projects controlling a limited number of end point devices from a centralised location. The KCS keypad controllers still pack a punch as they comfortably handle asynchronous commands and conditional feedback, but their strength lies with their small single gang form factor and ease of use. Although optimised as a single room control unit, in larger decentralised projects, our KCS range of products work seamlessly with KC keypad controllers. Most use cases for such projects are found in educational, corporate, commercial and IT sectors. However; a growing number of projects are appearing in the residential sector, and in particular projects concerning automation. Whatever the requirement, the KCS range of keypad controllers will provide the most cost effective solution. Under the hood, you will find two dedicated RS232 ports and two Flexi ports that can be configured as either RS232 or IR ports. The customization of Flexi ports, general handling of serial commands, I O manipulation, colours and other settings are carried out via the NebulaStudio application, a powerful yet intuitive 'no code' platform allows for rapid development of the vast majority of projects. Despite all the features outlined above and the small form factor, we have maintained the much loved slender look and feel of our previous keypad series with clean lines enhancing the minimalist design that naturally blends with its surroundings. We also recognise the challenges and rigours of real world installation environments, and in line with all our AV products the KCS keypads have been engineered to provide robust electrical and mechanical characteristics. All form factor variants, UK, EU and USA have an all metal chassis and aluminium faceplate finished in black, white or brushed aluminium. The KCS keypad controllers are available in a choice of 4, 6 or, 8 RGB illuminated buttons. There are also rotary dial variants with LED bar allowing for adjustment of parameters through rotation. RGB illuminated buttons Each button can be set to a specific true colour and intensity level, allowing for harmonisation of button groups displaying subtle or exaggerated changes. Soft transitions permit smooth fades between illuminated states, creating a more sophisticated user experience. All buttons can be labelled using the supplied legend sheet or own custom labels, and protected with clear caps. A Cap Removal Tool (CRT) is included with each KC controller to assist with removing the caps, should it be required to replace a label in the future. Flexible comm ports There are two dedicated full duplex RS232 ports as well as two Flexi ports which can be configured according to the specific requirements of a project. Each Flexi port can operate as a full duplex RS232, a combi port consisting of a half duplex RS232 and an IR emitter, or two IR emitters. I O ports There are 4x Digital I O Ports available, each of which can be configured as an input or output port. These ports can interface 24V DC devices and are capable of current sink (pull low) to 200mA. The ports are protected against over current, and back EMF from inductive loads such as relays. The inclusion of input pull up resistors ensures simple direct interface with external switches or contact closures. IR learner For convenience, there is also an inbuilt Universal IR Learner (25 60KHz carrier), which is used for capturing IR codes from any remote control handset. NebulaStudio software To facilitate rapid development of robust extendable software solutions we have created a number of dedicated applications in a single integrated environment, namely the NebulaStudio . At its heart lies an intuitive 'no code' property based configuration system ideal for rapid development of most common operations. This is made possible by binding a host of customisable command sequences to specific keypad buttons. These groups of sequential and asynchronous commands together with delays, event timers, colour changes and state transitions realise a specific behaviour which can be customised via a set of properties. The SY command library is also an integral part of NebulaStudio . This is an extensible collection of command sequences necessary for interaction with specific end point devices. Finally, the NebulaStudio includes a native keypad simulator that caters for soft testing of specific configurations. The SY mesh This is a radical networking concept logically connecting end point devices to the mesh network as opposed to a specific controller port. This abstraction allows for incredibly flexible system topologies, greatly enhancing scalability and reliability whilst minimising configuration effort. The Techconnect Control puts the end user at the centre of AV system design. It is what control should be for end users: simple. It has eight simple buttons that are each highly programmable. Pressing the quot;ON quot; button can simultaneously send activation commands through IR, RS 232, or a 12v trigger to multiple devices. It eliminates complexity by displaying only everyday functions to users, reducing the need for technical support calls and preventing the loss of remote controls. All of this is conveniently housed within a secure Techconnect module, making it an ideal solution for presentation rooms or meeting spaces. Modes You can activate basic learning mode by holding down a specific combination of buttons (3 4). In this mode, you can teach the device a single IR code for each button, all without requiring a computer. (Note: not possible with Epson projectors) For more advanced programming options, connect the device to a PC and utilize software to assign RS 232, IR, and 12v trigger functions to each individual button. Digital Signage Shutoff An onboard clock allows you to create schedules. For instance, you can schedule the automatic shutdown of digital signage in a store every night at midnight. Cloud Software Vision 39;s browser based programming software is all new, using the same simple approach as the old software, but much more powerful. When you create a configuration file it is now by default stored in our cloud (password protected). This file will be cached in your browser, and you can easily share a link with colleagues for collaborative work. Or you can still store a local copy of the configuration file. Pronto Compatible You can import pronto formatted IR codes. Crowd Sharing If an AV installer enters new device codes and they are verified to work, everyone will have access to those codes. IR Learning IR codes can be added by using the original remote pointed at the back of the module, or by copying and pasting the code in the software. IR Emitters Two external IR emitters are included; one with a 10m cable, and one with a 200mm cable which can be extended with a normal minijack cable. Note: Projection screens that come with remote controls often use RF (not IR). This control module does not support RF. 2 x RS 232 On the rear of the module are two RS 232 ports. It comes with a short 9 pin serial cable which plugs into the phoenix port on the Control. This device this only sends codes, and does not read them. 12v Trigger Many projector screens can be controlled with a 12v (2.4w) trigger voltage. Multi Action Buttons Each button can transmit multiple codes. So for example pressing the ON button can send commands to all AV devices simultaneously. You can also change the way codes are sent; you can send all codes allocated to a button all at the same time, or set delays to individual codes. For some applications you can send the codes sequentially, so the first press sends the first command, the second press sends the second command, etc. Or for volume holding the button down sends the codes repeatedly. Backlit Beeping Buttons You can select from red, green, or blue backlight options, and assign them to individual buttons. Additionally, if desired, each button can produce a beep sound when pressed. These products use USB Video Class (UVC) and USB Audio Class (UAC) drivers. These drivers come with the operating system, meaning there is no software for you to install and configure! Since AV.IO Models Have No Driver Software, What Do I Need to Capture Video Content? To capture video content with the AV.io models, you will need a software application that works with UVC hardware. Some such applications are native to certain operating systems, while most others need to be downloaded and installed from a third party source. Are There Any Configuration Options At All With AV.IO 4K? AV.io Config allows users several basic configuration options. Users can enable disable special capture frame sizes, select the audio pair for capture, set aspect ratio preservation, choose power saving performance mode, and update firmware on their AV.io 4K device. What Interface Is Needed for AV.IO 4K? AV.io 4K connects to your computer via USB. It works best with USB 3.0 (SuperSpeed), but can also work with reduced performance (and without audio capture) when plugged into a USB 2.0 port. Help! My Image Appears Reversed In My Capture Application! This is just a visual quirk image mirroring happens with most UVC friendly applications. But don t worry! All captured video content will appear correctly despite appearing reversed in your application! There Are Black Bards On Either Side of My Captured Video Content. How Do I Get Rid of These? By default, AV.io models preserve the aspect ratio of your input signal by adding black bars to the sides or top and bottom of the frame if the application using the signal requests a frame size with a different aspect ratio. This aspect ratio preservation option can be disabled by using the AV.io Config tool.
