The first accord born in this perfume was between Cade oil, Carrot seeds, a smoky incense, Cashmeran and Suederal. There was born the courage to change the course of my thoughts, their existence, my life. In those days, when this perfume was born, I read books on Shintoism and listened to Nils Frahm. I weighed every raw material as if they were necessary and fundamental words, like when you look for the right words to tell something important about your life to a person; it was my story, my path, in the dark. Smoky and dusty notes open the life of this fragrance, an incense that contains centuries of stories, deep, mysterious and intimate, the dust of Carrot seeds and the dark note of Cade. A dark heart, dove the darkest part of Osmanthus and Peony find refuge between the notes of Geranium and Magnolia, protected by Labdanum absolute and Amber notes. The basis on which this story I told you rests is built on the notes of Vetiver, Patchouli, Cedarwood and Sandalwood, Musk and Leather. Here, I think I've said it all. Among all materials, incense is without a doubt, for its history and the religious symbols associated with it, the one that fascinates perfumers the most. Its woody, mineral, and slightly spicy scent gives a mystical dimension, a sacred aspect to any composition. In ancient times it was considered more precious than gold, and the incense routes from the Arab kingdoms to the gates of Indonesia contributed to the fortune of entire civilizations. In 2009 I composed a fresh vegetal incense in which the animalic nature of agarwood responded to the bitterness of cinchona bark. I called it ''L'eau Guerriere'' (Warrior Water), recalling that ancient divinatory ceremonies, based on incense, were often used to predict the outcome of military maneuvers... Ten years later, here I am again on the incense trail, starting from an extraordinary material inspired by the burning smoke of Indonesian oud chips: Kyara Wood.''. - THE FRAGRANCE: At the same time mineral and burning in its scent, 20.1 Sorong Eau de Parfum 100 ml is an ''animalized smoke'' and pairing it with incense resin seemed obvious to me.
