As part of the maintenance of cassette drives, the entire drive mechanism is serviced. This includes, among other things, thorough cleaning, the replacement of vulnerable plastic parts and the treatment of certain components with application-specific grease or Oil. To ensure reliable function, the belts are replaced. The pressure rollers are carefully inspected and replaced if necessary. After maintenance, each drive is calibrated using high-quality test cassettes (level, tape speed and azimuth (optimal reproduction of high frequencies)) and operated in a longer test run. We can sometimes determine the quality of the sound head by the recording quality of a high-frequency sine tone. Nice Denon cassette deck, tested on all functions and works faultlessly. I have made a test recording and it sounds very good. It is quite compact as the cassette is drawer loaded. It has had a new belt fitted & the head cleaned and demagnetised.

Here we have a Teac single tape deck. The unit is a V-1050 and is working lovely. I will say that as soon as it’s switched on even not running there is a hum from the unit. This may just need a service as this has been in dry storage for a few years.
