These can be brought on ebay for around £6. If you didn't want to use the single aa battery compartment The unit has got some surface scratchings due to age and use but sounds amazing

Good working order, Have tested CD, Minidisc and both work and function as they should. Made Normal and Hi-Speed recording from CD to MD and this copies over correctly. The only minor issue is the CD drawer can be a bit sticky when closing - However this vastly improved the more I tested it.
