The laser has been professionally cleaned to improve the lifespan of the unit. This was part of a whole stack system originally but it can be used on its own, the back plug has a EU adapter on it so if not using in the UK you can also use EU plug type easily by removing the plug.

Sony MZ-R700 has been in a drawer for a long time! It plays minidisc fine, one is included, and all the functions appear to be working. Sometimes the MD doesn't fully come out when ejecting. I've found taking out the screw gives it a little more space to move and it comes out fine, plus the other three hold the top on. It's all screwed together now so as not to lose the tiny screw. I have noticed the headphone socket can be a bit fussy and you have to position the headphone just so to get both channels. No headphones or remote or power supply included. Works fine with one AA though.
