A good example of a late 18th-century verge fusee pair-case pocket watch. The watch is in overall good condition for its age, with a few areas of wear and minor damage that one would reasonably expect on a piece of this period. The outer case has strong, crisp hinges. The inner case hinge is functional, though there is some slight damage to the top right. The hands are clean and in good condition. The watch is accompanied by a variety of dated watch papers—please refer to the photographs for full details of condition. The movement is signed John Hudson, Nottingham. The watch ticks when power is applied; however, a full service or overhaul is recommended for reliable, regular use.
