From Google The image shows a British 1937 George VI Threepence coin. This coin is made of silver and was part of the pre-decimal currency system. This coin circulated alongside a larger, 12-sided nickel-brass version introduced in 1937. The silver threepence was eventually superseded by the brass version during the Second World War, as the latter was easier to identify during blackouts. The obverse features an uncrowned portrait of King George VI facing left. The reverse shows St. George's cross within a Tudor rose design.
