I tested these storage, hideaway, classical styled Edwardian / Victorian "books".. they're fully functional.. the embossed leatherette is in very very good condition the brown stropping on the covers is compromised.. not structurally but in that the brown color has worn away in a number of spots.. the photos will of course show that.. these exposed surfaces can be very easily colored brown with a Brown erasable marker .. or left as they are.. THIS IS OF COURSE A TRADITIONAL AND EFFECTIVE WAY TO HIDE VALUABLES!
