If possible, insert an inner tube into the tyre before fitting to the rim and inflate to 'reshape' the tyre. Deflate inner tube and remove from tyre before fitting to the rim. As you inflate, bounce the wheel / tyre around on the ground to assist the tyre in seating on the bead and it will go on no problem.
