This is a really interesting item, it is a classical style bronzed plaster relief shield decorated with battle scenes with a chariot in the centre. There is a hook at the back from which it can be hung.

It's particularly useful for Eastern Roman cavalry where no designs other than guards are known, and also useful for militia units in the east and west where no designs are known. Can also be used for Romano British / Romano Frankish and other Roman Successor States.
