For sale is a really nice teapot made by Ludwigsburg in about 1765. It is hand painted with a polychrome Watteau style scene to either side including a couple in a landscape background. Some small flowers and leaves scattered about as well and a gold trim to the top edge,handle and animal spout. Fruit finial to lid. The lid has a brown trim to the edge . it is from the right time period, the right design and fits perfectly but because of the different colored trim it could be a matched piece. Would be an easy fix with a bit of gilding if you ask me :) The pot is marked with the under glaze blue CC under the crown mark as well as a red painter's mark Da:. and an impressed 3 and I9.
