A lovely oak stationery box dating from the late 19th Century. The top lifts up to reveal leather pen holders mounted below the lid. The front then folds down to reveal the inner letter racks and the front folds out again to provide a sloped leather writing surface.

This is a lovely ANTIQUE STATIONARY BOX with a BEAUTIFUL MARQUETRY PICTURE on the lid. In my estimation it dates from the late 19th Century, but please make up your own mind about this. The box measures approx 12 inches (305mm) wide, by 6 1/2 inches (160mm) deep, by 4 1/2 inches (115mm) tall. It is in good, antique condition with light wear, consistent with its great age, but no major damage, or woodworm. (The hinges have been replaced at some point long ago.) This is a fine example of its type and it would make a good decorative piece, and be a great addition to any desk top. Please see the photos for condition and type. Weight approx 600 grams. Shipping and packaging is at cost, with no profit.
