Vintage 1800’s box of wards safe lock from a cast iron safe. These are quite rare on their own as it usually means that the safe has been scrapped, there was a period where these older safes were redundant as they couldn’t get any insurance ratings. The locks were all hand made and had complex ward systems that the key had to navigate, I’ve stripped it down to show the components for the photos. The lock is all original and has just been cleaned and specially waxed for protection.
