For this typical configuration, in addition to perfumery, it was also used in naturalistic engineering and planted on the edges of roads to avoid soil erosion. There are different qualities of vetiver, the most renowned are Haitian vetiver, Bourbon vetiver from Ile de la Réunion and Javanese vetiver. Depending on the type of territory in which it grows and its exposure to the sun, each species has different olfactory nuances.
