This is a wonderfully weighty Mortar, turned from a single piece of solid brass. Likely created in the late Victorian to Edwardian period. A nicely tactile piece, with its carved band details and elegant pedestal. Light ware and scratches, consistent with and emphasise it’s age. Would make a stunning addition to any country kitchen.
