Pair of 6 x 6 cast iron coal savers. Cast iron coal savers are used when there are gaps to the sides of a fire grate. By covering up these gaps the coal savers prevent coal falling down the sides of the fire which can be a huge waste of fuel. These cast iron coal savers measure 6 in width and height and are 1.5 thick.

Labelled “Coal Saver Bricks – Back – 25.5” (see photo). One brick is still wrapped; the other was unwrapped to check fit but never used. They were purchased but did not fit the intended fireplace.
