2 very early American coin silver spoons from the J. Bigelow & Co, Boston. John Bigelow started the company in 1830 and was joined shortly thereafter by his brother, Alanson Bigelow. These spoons were produced in that early period, before Kennard joined the company. Not much silver is out there with this earliest hallmark "J Bigelow and Co Boston" The fiddle pattern is the lovely and simple pattern as is much used in Early American silver. Condition is good, the spoons date from 1830-1837! The monogram is "M". I have family provenance indicating that it is "Mitchell". Spoons are 6" long with a total weight of 28 grams
