  1. A RARE ANTIQUE GASKELL & CHAMBERS ORIGINAL SAFETY CORKSCREW ,CIRCA-1900.

    This is a rare antique corkscrew made by Gaskell & Chambers, invented in 1897 by agil rest & Pick . It is an original safety corkscrew from the early 1900s and is made of steel with a wonderful ornate design . The corkscrew was manufactured in the United Kingdom and is a great addition to any collection. It is specifically designed for wine bottles, screwed to a counter top for ease of use and is a valuable tool for any wine enthusiast. In good working order with a full length screw , it measures approximately 9” tall by 8” wide with the handle . With a good original colour and patina, I think it was chrome plated when new and this is now showing some wear - see pictures.
