Vintage Stoneware Butter Crock, Cobalt Blue Speckled, Wire Bale, #C. This is a beautiful crock with a deep blue color. I’ve not seen a butter crock with these color combinations ever. There are no chips or cracks. There are firing imperfections and there is writing on the bottom that can probably be removed for the most part. I’m sure it was pricing that caused the use of the marker, but it is a shame they put this on the porous part of the crock. Even with this labeling it takes nothing away from the beauty of the piece since it cannot be seen. Thank you for looking.
