For sale is a Stanley No. 196 curved sole Rebate plane, in excellent condition. This is a rare and highly collectible tool, especially hard to find complete with all original fences and fittings. This is a fine example of the Stanley 196, seldom seen on the market in this condition and completeness.

This is a genuine antique. The brand I & H Sorby is significant as this was only used between 1827 and 1844, dating this plane in that era. Latently the ‘H’ was dropped. This is in wonderful, unrestored original condition. It is circa 8 inches in length and has a stunning patina.
