This double-decker bus was a mainstay of the Dinky range from 1938 right through to the 1960s. During that time it went through a lot of changes while retaining the same basic casting. The main difference you will notice to the casting is the radiator grille. There are three types, two AECs and a Leyland. I will use the same definitions as the Ramsay price guide in that the Type 1 was an AEC with a central divider to the grille, a large badge and cut-away front wings. This one ran from 1938 to 1947. It was based on the London bus of the time, the AEC STL.. This original very playworn example is ideal for restoration, spares or enjoy as is.
