The colour combination makes these DSW’s very desirable pieces waiting to adorn your chosen space with their presence. The shell chairs are also influenced by their colour. The ‘S’ inside the circle on the underside of the shells indicate they originate from Herman Miller’s Summit Plastics factory.

Eames DSW dowel based chair made by Herman Miller dating from the late 50s or early 60s. Elephant hide grey original fiberglass shell mounted on shock mounts with a mid colour (oak?) base. Original Herman Miller stamp on shell. The original fibreglass shells feel more authentic than the modern polypropylene versions. Ok condition (given its age) there are splits on the back of the fibreglass as shown - please check all the photos carefully so there are no surprises. One of the shock mounts is also squashed a bit as shown. Marks on the legs too. A nice restoration project or for someone who likes the patina of a beautiful chairs that’s c.70 years old!
