Pic # 2 shows this very model in an old Electro Voice catalog from the 1950's. Again, this mic was sold under contract to DuKane which was a very common practice by both E.V and Shure Brothers. This 623 variant has an omni-directional pattern as well picking up a bit more background noise.

A very rugged mic best applied for P.A operation or just about any public / live situation. These also make excellent harp mics do to it's high impedance setting have a dirty, muddier tone. Very "rockabilly" in nature.
