This microphone was manufactured in Chicago, Ill by Allied Radio Corp. I have heard good working 4550 model mics and they sound incredible on the low Z setting. The ON / OFF switch slides smooth as it should.

You are looking at a very nice used microphone handle / adapter from the 1930's or 40's era that was commonly used on Turner, Electro Voice, Shure and a whole wide variety of other microphones. I do not know that manufacturer of this item but I have only seen about a dozen of them over the past 15 years.
