This item is in excellent condition (see photos). The compact is clearly stamped 'Stratton' and 'Pat. 764125' and the hinges and clasp are tight and work well. I would estimate that the compact dates from the 1950's or 1960's.

The compact is not apparently marked by any known maker, but is marked with 'Made in England' to the base. The hinges are tight and work well. For the compact to have the George Rex emblem it would suggest that it was produced between 1910 and 1936 (the length of his reign).
