The elastic that the waist strap feeds through is also a little stretched but this doesn't affect functionality. Comes with ergobaby newborn inserts for babies between 7lbs and 12lbs. can be used without inserts for babies from 12lbs to 45lbs. I found this carrier very comfortable and did lots of long walks with baby. Has a hood that poppers onto the shoulder straps and a zippered pocket.
