The surround is of a very impressive size and has a fantastic design with stunning acanthus leaves, swags and scrolls along the crossbar. The crossbar has curved moulding and there are scrolled, shaped details at the ends.

The legs have pretty bows and delicate flowers and there is an ornate acanthus leaf border around the fire opening. The iron has been blacked and polished and has a good finish. The back has surface rust, as expected.
