There is ample room in the truss rod. The included hard case is a 1970s Gibson hard case. It is in excellent condition and overall clean. Of course, since it's designed for semi-acoustic guitars, it can also be used with ES-335s!

It is really "as new" with no scratches, dings or any other sign of wear. I bought this guitar new in June 2010 and as I have two other guitars that I use often. the Gibson has been hardly played and has been left in the case for at least two years.
