As is typical for the ES-175, it features a laminated maple top. However, between 1983 and 1990, Gibson used laminated mahogany for the sides and back, deviating from the traditional maple construction.

The pickup is a rewired and modified Gibson 57 Classic. This guitar has had its broken neck repaired and the entire back of the neck has been over-lacquered. Hard case included. The neck is slightly thin, making it easy to grip, and it has been refretted, so it is very playable.
