Introduced in 1955, the "ES-225" is one of Gibson's earliest thin-body archtop models. Its distinctive features include a trapeze tailpiece, similar to the earliest Les Pauls, and a block under the bridge.

Crafted with a maple centerblock and quarter-sawn Adirondack spruce bracing, players will be impressed by the lightweight feel and expanded range of tonal capabilities. The body is wrapped in multi-ply binding and the bound fingerboard has Split Parallelogram inlays exclusive to this model in the ES™ series.

Gibson ES345 that I’ve given some ageing treatment with UV lamps, the clear coat over the binding has yellowed nicely and the red has faded. Aged nickel hardware and a covers. This one’s ridiculously light weight about 7.8lbs Couple touch ups on the headstock face very hard to notice, replaced the tuner bushings for a more authentic look. Some nice lacquer checking throughout, who says you need a Murphy lab?!! Stock parts otherwise. Sounds and plays perfect. Comes with case and candy. I’m willing to entertain trades for either a white custom shop 60s strat or a Les Paul 58-59 type.

It is really "as new" with no scratches, dings or any other sign of wear. I bought this guitar new in June 2010 and as I have two other guitars that I use often. the Gibson has been hardly played and has been left in the case for at least two years.
