Nice and readable copy if the CQ Amateur Radio Anthology 2, covering 1952 - 1959. Articles in this anthology cover a wide range of subjects of interest to hams, including: transmitters and receivers, test equipment, SSB, RTTY, theory, improving equipment, and more. This copy is in good condition. There is a split in the spine, but it's not very noticeable and did not interfere with reading. Other than that, it's quite clean.

It is generally sufficient to 'loosely couple' the modulator to the receiver. The output is fed through a pi attenuator so that the modulator can feed into any load without affecting the modulation characteristics.
