Herman Miller began making the Aluminum Group chairs in 1958, and they have been in continuous demand ever since. The chair rotates 360 degrees and has removable floor glides. In a dark pink/brown velvet fabric, this could have been a contract order as not seen any like this before.

The chair was designed to be both comfortable and stylish, and it has been praised for its ability to provide both relaxation and support. Examples are also on display at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn and in the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston.

The collector’s dream, the original finish for this fantastic piece, the down-filled cushions mark this as an early example sat on the rich rosewood panelling. This chair is in good condition and would make for an excellent original lounge chair.

All with original Herman Miller stamp. Mounted on dowel bases. These small signs of wear are normal and appropriate to their authenticity. Light Greige - very fibery. Obviously, we will help where we can.

There are clear signs of general use around the shells sides with the faded colour however that aids with their history. There are signs of dirt that has been ingrained into the fiberglass so a professional clean is advised.

The contemporary version of this chair is made of polypropylene, which in our opinion, is not a patch on these original fibreglass models, which age really well. Obviously, we will help where we can.
eBay
In very good overall condition, with just a couple of very small scuffs here and there to the edges of the shells, in keeping with their age, but nothing noticeable.
