This is the first edition of The Children of the Poor by Jacob Riis published by Charles Scriber's Sons in 1892. It is illustrated with many of Riis's photographs and other illustrations depicting life among the children in New York slums. Condition: This book has a modern rebinding that uses fragments of the original binding. This new binding is in perfect condition with only very minor corner bumping. The contents of this book are in great condition also with very minor staining. I hold the binder's form for the rebinding and can send it to anyone upon request. It will also be included alongside the book.
